SLURS stands for Silke and Urs. What started as a nice idea to celebrate our birthday during Corona, turned into a festival production that we set up 3 years in a row. SLURS was a passion project that was initially just for friends and was eventually created as a realistic festival production at the Willem Twee pop venue.
Together with a friend I set up this concept and thought about storytelling, the concept, artists, decor, light and sound, food and drinks, camping spots, mapping of the festival grounds, ticket sales, marketing, budgeting and all other facets that go into organizing a come and watch the event.
It was often a big challenge, but a great experience to set up and organize an entire production from A to Z.

- 2021
- 120 visitors (Friends and friends from friends)
- 4 DJ's
- At my parent's place
- With campsite
- Minimal profit
- Best experience (From my point of view)
SLURS 3.0 - Planet SLURS
- 2022
- 300 visitors (Friends, friends from friends, but unknown people as well)
- 4DJ's
- At pop venue Willem Twee Den Bosch
- No campsite, indoors
- Reasonable profit
- Reasonable experience (From my point of view)
The reason why SLURS 2.0 was the best experience in my opinion is because I like outdoor festivals myself way better in comparison with indoor festivals. The site where you can create multiple areas for different states of mind is a necessity in my opinion. I think that is also the reason why I enjoyed organising SLURS 2.0 better than SLURS 3.0.
