From 2015 to 2019 I studied at SintLucas in Boxtel. I studied spatial design and obtained my MBO diploma. Within this course, I opted for the additional specialization Event Design.
At SintLucas I learned to work on a project basis. For each new semester, we could choose from different projects: product design, media design and spatial design. I tried each different project once but quickly noticed that my preference was spatial design.
Because of my fascination with spatial design and because I had visited my first festivals at the time, I became very curious about how a festival stage was designed. That is why I did my first internship at a company in set construction.
Internship Layhgo Nijmegen
At Layhgo in Nijmegen, I was responsible for set design, creating decor in the workplace and set-up/dismantling on the festival site.
At Layhgo I discovered my love for the events industry and the people who work in it. However, I wanted to get better at designing stages. I was also able to develop this with my internship in my fourth and final year at Twofiftyk.
Internship Twofiftyk Eindhoven
During my internship, I was responsible for concept development and set design for national and international clients.
